Condo Units vs Hotel Rooms – Condo units mean larger accomodations with more features, amenities, and extras

When you’re traveling with a group of four or more, cramming into a single hotel room or trying to arrange adjoining rooms can be a challenge. Most of us don’t realize that Condo resort units are so much different than hotels and a great alternative. Even couples traveling along looking for the extra value of deluxe suite or villa at minimal costs will find condo rental a good option.

Quick Tip:
hotel.jpgWhen you see a number of bedrooms listed, the bedrooms are almost always actual rooms off of the main living area. A studio or hotel-style accommodation would be listed as having zero bedrooms, for example. Because they’re typically equipped with sleeper sofas, a one-bedroom will usually sleep four people comfortably.

With a standard hotel you get a room with a bed and a bathroom… But, with a Condo / timeshare resort or Villa, you typically get a full apartment unit offering:

  • One, two, or three bedrooms
  • A central living room (usually with a sleeper sofa) and Dining Area
  • Balcony or Patio
  • A complete kitchen with stove, oven, microwave, dishwasher, as well as dishes and utensils
  • Washer and dryer
  • One, two, and sometimes three full bathrooms, often with Jacuzzi tub or Roman Spa
  • Access to Golf Club and special tee times

With a Condo unit, a couple can enjoy a private romantic balcony, luxurious Jacuzzi tub and other deluxe amenities not found in a typical hotel room. Two Couples can travel together, sharing the unit and yet maintaining privacy with ample room. You can invite friends, relatives, and put the kids to bed in one bedroom while everyone else enjoys their private bedrooms.

$$MONEY$$ saving Tip:
Rates for condo and villa rentals are typically quoted for a week (7 nights continuous stay), inclusive of taxes. When comparing rates, you must keep in mind that hotel and resort rates are not inclusive of taxes. To see the rate at a condo unit without the taxes, you can divide the nightly rate by (1+tax %). For example, using the industry worldwide taxes and fees average of 18%, you would divide a condo rate which includes taxes by 1.18 in order to obtain your comparable hotel rate. All our listings include a “Compare To Hotel Rate” which estimates this amount for you so you can make better and more informed decisions about your vacation accomodation options.
